Heath Helton, currently serving as the Region 6 Coordinator for the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) Executive Council and Chief of Police at the Little Rock Police Department, has actively supported the Torch Run movement since 1997. His journey began as a volunteer during his high school years, and over the past 27 years, he has dedicated himself to the movement at local, state, and international levels. Heath’s involvement in LETR is driven by a profound commitment to community service and advocacy for individuals with intellectual disabilities. He credits the movement with having a significant impact on his life, from the friendships he has formed with athletes and fellow law enforcement professionals to meeting the love of his life, Carmen. For Heath, LETR is truly “IMPACTFUL.”

In addition to his role in LETR, Heath has served as a Unified Partner in softball and as a member of the Special Olympics Arkansas Board of Directors. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy (Session #268) and the FBI National Executive Institute (Session #47), Heath also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Leadership from Central Baptist College and a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice-Public Administration from Liberty University. He serves on the Board of the Arkansas Association of Chiefs of Police and the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training. Heath’s dedication to public service and leadership is evident in his multifaceted contributions to both law enforcement and the Special Olympics community.
