Jon Cole currently serves as the Region V Coordinator for the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics. He has been an integral part of LETR South Dakota since 2009, leveraging his extensive experience to enhance the organization’s effectiveness. In his current role, Jon not only coordinates regional efforts but also chairs the training and communications committee, utilizing his leadership skills to improve organizational operations. His journey with LETR began without a personal connection to the cause; he was introduced by another member and quickly became passionate about the mission and the athletes.
With a 17-year career in law enforcement, Jon has amassed a wealth of experience in various roles, including patrol officer, motor officer, detective, and school resource officer, before transitioning into retirement. He also served as the past chair of Special Olympics South Dakota, further showcasing his dedication to the cause. Jon’s professional expertise, combined with his commitment to training and communication within LETR, has made him a valuable asset to the organization.
