Larry Crosman is a retired sergeant of the Mansfield Police Department and is a chair appointee to the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) International Executive Council. As a member of Executive Council, Larry is the Fraternal Order of Police representative and chairman of the Guardian Awards Committee. Larry has been a passionate advocate for Special Olympics since his early days as an officer and was honored in 2019 by Special Olympics Massachusetts as an inductee to their Hall of Fame for his outstanding contributions.

Larry is also a dedicated Special Olympics bowling coach and a former Final Leg team member for the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games in Washington State. He has a personal connection to the movement, as his late stepdaughter was a participant in the Young Athlete program. Larry has a remarkable career as a detective and detective sergeant for over 15 years, with expertise in various areas of law enforcement. He holds an associate’s degree from Western New England College. He is a mastermind behind many successful fundraising events for Special Olympics Massachusetts, such as 5K Run with the Cops, Polar Plunges, and Truck Pulls. He also made a dream come true for Special Olympics Pennsylvania athlete Ernie Roundtree, who ran the Boston Marathon with Larry’s help after they met during the 2018 LETR Final Leg. Larry says that Special Olympics has changed his life for the better.
