Tim Hileman currently serves as the President and CEO of Special Olympics Michigan. He began his career collaborating with the Grand Rapids Police Department as a Youth Intervention Specialist, where he developed a great respect for the law enforcement community. Tim’s admiration for the members of the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) is profound, as he has witnessed firsthand their dedication to supporting Special Olympics athletes. His respect for LETR members, who manage to uplift athletes while fulfilling their demanding roles in law enforcement, is immense.

Before his tenure at Special Olympics Michigan, Tim was the CEO of a Community Mental Health provider organization for a decade. His leadership extended to chairing a Governor-appointed committee during the COVID-19 pandemic. Tim holds a BA in Sociology and a Master’s of Management from Aquinas College, along with a Graduate Certificate in Philanthropy from Indiana University-Indianapolis. His favorite role within Special Olympics Michigan is being a Fan in the Stands, supporting athletes at various events. Tim’s commitment to the mission of Special Olympics and his extensive experience in both mental health and community service make him a valuable asset to the organization.
