Ronald Sellon, currently serving as the IACP VP Appointee on the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) International Executive Council, has significantly contributed to the LETR movement. With a personal connection through his 13-year-old son with Autism, Ronald’s involvement in LETR for Special Olympics is both professional and deeply personal. He has supported LETR efforts locally in various supporting roles.
Professionally, Ronald is current the Chief of Police at the Mansfield Police Department in Massachusetts, specializing in crisis negotiations, emergency management, and crime prevention. Ronald’s leadership and dedication are further evidenced by his previous roles as VP of regional mutual aid facilitator, covering 40+ communities and a population of over 1 million, former control Chief of SWAT, Negotiators, K9, and current Bicycle team, and as a contributor to IACP police facility construction guidelines, community response to hate crimes, and review of co-responder models with BJA and the University of Cincinnati.
His educational background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Law Enforcement from Western New England University (WNEU), a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from WNEU, and a Juris Doctor from the Massachusetts School of Law. Ronald has also completed FBINA session 245 and PERF-SMIP session 65.
